For many years, I have loved photography because it has given me a way to express myself in ways that words can not. As I began my high school career, I took a photography class not knowing that it would soon become a passion of mine. Not only did I have a wonderful teacher who taught me so many valuable lessons, but I started to find myself in the images I was taking. I wanted my viewers to feel a certain way when they saw an image, and I wanted to also tell a story that they could relate to. As an artist now, I have gained a new perspective on many things and my eyes have been opened up to the world and what it has to offer. In the future I hope to be able to continue learning about life through a camera lens and that I might spark the passion of photography in someone else how my teacher once did for me.
You don't make a photograph with just a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.
